Mount Mera peak, situated at an altitude of 6654 meter above the sea level is the 18th permitted trekking peak in Nepal. It is standing to the south of Mount Everest dominating the watershed between heavily wooded valleys of the Inkhu. J.O. M. Roberts & Sen Tenzing made the first successful expedition to this summit of Mera peak on 20 May 1953. The route they used is still the standard and fallowing route. The walk from Lukla through the Sherpa country of the remote Inkhu valley is a lifetime experience offering superb scenery, and abundant wildlife - including rumored sightings of the legendary yeti for the travelers. You can do ski descending from the near TOP of this easy climbing peak. From Top of Mera peak, we can have the brilliant view of Mount Everest 8848m. Mount Makalu 8464m. Mount Kanchanjunga 8586m. Mount Lhotse 8516meters and many other tiny peaks. It feels like reaching heaven while stepping on the top of Mera Peak for the climbers. After Mera peak, the route follows Mingmo La pass and it is wild trek from Mera La.

This 6654 meters elevated peak is climbed by about 1000 to 1500 Nepali guides and mountaineers every year. One need to have mountaineering skills and permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association to do this expedition. Monterosa Treks and expedition organizes this expedition in each season.
