The most triangular shaped ridge with lower slope of mount Machhapuchre, the mountain possesses two peaks thus it is named in English means 'Fish Tail'. It is clearly seen from Phewa lake at Pokhara.
It is situated to the most southerly high point of Mt. Annapurna massif; around these there is other majestic grouping of mountains in the central Himalayan that includes 5 of the 12 highest mountains in the world.
Descending first through the forest a different route takes us down to the upper Mardi Khola. The torrent that has been coming from Mardi Himal is still away from the use of trekking routes. The trekking goes along the banks of Mardi Kola and from the hill side village, down through the lovely fields, there are rice fields and natural vegetations.
