Mount Shishapangma is the youngest mountain among fourteen of 8000 meters above mountains in the world. Twenty years ago, the British climbers Doug Scott, Alex Macintyre and Roger and Baxter climbed this mountain for the very first time. Many climbers are following same or different route to step on its summit after them. From Kathmandu, Nepal-Tibet boarder can be reached by minibus. Preparing all of your visa permits and other necessary documents, on the same day you can reach Zhangmu and Nyalam for acclimatization. Our staff will prepare entire requirements for your further journey. Walking for 2 days from Nyalam now you reach to Shishapangma South Base camp. You should refresh yourself for 1 day here. Then after walking for two days from Base camp, you reach Advance Base Camp which remains there until you finish your whole expedition.
Camp 1:6400m. Punngpa (Camp 1) is reached after the difficult climbing. As here the surface is 55- 60 % vertical ice slope, sometimes it becomes very difficult to move ahead because of heavy snowfall with rocks. So, you have to use helmet for the protection. We should start to move before sunrise from Base Camp to ensure a safe passage through the snowfall accompanied by rocks.
Camp 2. 7000m. Climbing steadily for many hours you reach behind the second narrow rocky tower, which can be called camp 2. This camp is situated in a bit dangerous place because it is under a ridge of Ice. So, it’s your choice to stay or move ahead from here.
Camp 03 –7500m. Reaching Camp 3 (7500m) from Camp 2 is easier. Though you are midst of Snowy Mountain you can feel warmer in clear and sunny day.
Summit day of South Face of Shishapangma You can reach summit by the morning by starting from here in the middle of the night. Though this day is quite difficult you can have different experience of walking on many glaciers on the way. You will surely be delighted with the amazing view looking down after you reach a top. There is Mount Annapurna & Mount Manaslu in its west, The Juggle, Langtang, Ganesh Himal are on the South, Cho Oyu, Everest and Makalu are on the East and the holy Mount Kailash is on its North.
