Lhasa - Everest Base Camp to Mount Kailash Tour

Lhasa EBC Kailsh Tour

Full moon night in Manasarovar Lake on 18 August 2017 (Janai Purnima)

Hindus believe mount Kailash to be the dwelling of Hindu Lord Shiva and goddess Parbati. For a Hindu, to accept the challenging pilgrimage to have the Darshan (divine view) of Shiva’s abode is rinse off the sins of 100 births and to get blessings from god. Thousands of Hindu religious people from across the world encounter the sacred mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake, situated in Tibet, an autonomous region of China following the route of Nepal.

Tibet a sacred home to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake, is a famous pilgrimage destination for the devotees of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Bon religions and is believed to be the place where the founder of these religion once meditated and resided.

The snow-capped rocky peak-Kailash Parbat (mountain) 6714meters has become an epitome of beauty also because of the unique four sheer walls like appearance and the Buddhist symbol called Swastika in its southern side. The diverse flora and fauna with the diverse landscape attracts the devotees despite of the problems like high altitude sickness, extreme temperature and rough terrain. Kailash Parvat is entitled differently in different religion like “Kang Rimpoche”, “Asthapada”, “Mount Sumeru” or “Mount Meru”.

Manasarovar Lake: Situated just 15 meters below Kailash Parvat, Mansarovar Lake (4580m) is another significant pilgrimage destination for both Hindus and Buddhists. Here, the word “Manas” means mind or consciousness and “Sarovar” means Lake according to Sanskrit language. It is believed that circumambulating this lake can help one to purge ones soul from sins and physical body from diseases and sickness making them youthful and strong forever. The enthusiasm of securing place in heaven, escaping from the chain of this mortal takes devotees to this spiritual land. For the devotees “Mokshya” is an ultimate reward of this exertion. But it is not easy to circumambulate the peripheries as it takes three full days to rotate. However the peaceful surrounding, monks and high lamas chanting at the shore of the lake compensate the miseries of the pilgrims. Mount Kailash and Mansarovar is the place where every people aspire to visit at least once in their life time. The Travel Company, Monterosa organizes this kind of trip every year. If you want to venture this holy hand you are always welcome.
