Monterosa Treks and Expedition offers an exciting trip to the Capital of China’s autonomous region of Tibet, Lhasa. Adorned with many ancient, historic and artistic monuments, buildings, palaces like the ancient Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Zokhang Temple and the Norbulunka, it is 3650 meters above the sea level. Enjoying the mesmerizing views of the Himalayan ranges including the highest summit of the world Mount Everest, it takes one hour flight via China Southwest Airlines to reach Gonggar Airport at Lhasa from Kathmandu. You do not need to worry about immigration formalities as our escorts will be there to handle it. Then you will be taken to the hotel for night stay with two hour drive (about 93km) from Airport.
Spending two following days in sightseeing of the beautiful Lhasa Bazaar will make you easier to adapt on the climate, temperature and altitude of Tibet. Then you will be carving your trip to the Holy Mountain Kailash (6714 meters). The exclusive settings of Tibetan Highlands and the Yarlung Tsangpo river valley on the way can make you feel like you are somewhere in heaven. Then you will be taken to sacred Manasarovar Lake lying about 15 meters below the Kailash Parvat. If you find difficulties in continuing your journey you can also return back rotating the ‘Yam Dwar’, (Gate of Heaven) in the beginning point of the trek. It takes three days to perform the Kailash Kora (Kailash Circumambulation), which will be our ultimate achievement. Then you will be driven back to the Miteri Bridge (Friendship Bridge) from where you will have a coach ride back to Kathmandu and our Tour will be over.

Kailash-The Mysterious Holy Peak Mt. Kailash (6714m), which is considered to be the sacred abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati by Hindus is often venerated by Buddhist, Jain and the Bonpo: Tibetan indigenous religion as the place is believed to be the dwelling of gods and goddess as per their own myths. Tibetan people call it as “Jewel of Snow”. Buddhist cosmography identifies Kailash with the mighty Mount Sumeru as the exact center of the entire universe. Jain believes it as a place where their first saint attained Liberation. Tibetan people consider it as a soul of the universe and assure their perpetuity and protection if entire world. Literally meaning the lake of consciousness, Kailash is famous for its four sheer wall shaped appearance like that of a handle of a millstone with the Buddhist Symbol Swastika in its Southern Face. Mount Meru is related to Kailash Parvat by ancient myths with its four faces made of four different Jewels (gold, crystal, Rubi, and lapis lazuli). It is source to the prominent river of Asia namely, The Brahmaputra, The Indus, The Ganges and The Sutlej.

Sapta Rishi cave; While walking from Darchen to Serlung Gompa by early morning and the next ten minutes' walk from Serlung Monastery we reach to Ashtapad. A spectacular mountain amphitheater at the base of Mount Kailash, Ashtapad literally means eight steps. Inspecting Saptrishi Cave and have the divine view of Atmalingam. Nandi Kora (Circumambulation of Nandi Parvat) is not an easy task as we need to be very fit for walking & rock climbing near the Saptrishi cave. Saptrishi cave and 13 Chhurten can be seen from here. 10 minutes climb up can show you Sardung Chuksum La pass 5858m. Professional Mountain guides are necessary for this trip as they will put rope and carry some emergency oxygen for the traveler’s comfort. After doing Nandi Kora, we will return to Serlung Gompa and move towards Darchen for a night stay. Serlung Gompa -Saptrishi Cave/ Atma Lingam / Nandi Parikrama is at the distance of 13 kilo meters. As per Hindu mythologies, a person who moves around the Kailash Parbat, we will be free from all known and unknown sins. Also, it is said that a person who moves Nandi once, gets an equal bless of rotating the Kailash for 13 times.

Lake Manasarovar; Located situated just 15 meters below the holy Kailash Parbat, the most sacred Lake Manasarovar is another jewel of Kailash region. Literally the meaning of Manasarovar is the consciousness of mind as per the Sanskrit language. This lake has long religious and spiritual significance to Both Hindus and Buddhists. One dip into the cold water of this lake is considered as the holiest thing to do which takes the person in the heaven after death. Taking a holy bath at this emerald pure water and rotation of this gigantic lake is believed to rinse off the sins of 100 births with the reward of Salvation. Hence every individual dream to venture this holy place to rotate around it, drink the sacred water of Manasarovar at least once in their life time. Please Remember Monterosa for this holy trip. On Aug. 22, 2009, Doleshwar Mahadev was officially declared as the head of Kedarnath, one of the Char Dham Yatra. All in the year 2013, after the devastating flood hit the temple of Kedarnath, situated in Uttarkhand, the regular prayers that were interrupted were carried out in Doleshwar Temple. • 14 August 2024 Day 03: Early in the morning, Kailash pilgrims are taken to Pasupatinath temple for Rudra Consecration called Rudra Abhishek, Hawan and Aarati. Seven or 11 Brahmins priests prepare for fire offering Hawan in Pavilion (Mandap) and do Sankalpa Pooja in the beginning followed by Swastibachan (Preaching), Nyas, Rudra preaching and Mahamritunjaya (Death victory) Pooja. The word ‘Rudra’, meaning ‘Fearful Lord Shiva’ has come from Rudrabhishek, Rudranti Iti Rudri, Rudhiryoge Metal. It means there is pain, violence, greed among people on this Earth and we perform religious hymns in praise of God Shiva so that he escapes people from all these miseries of life and grants justice, good health, prosperity, peace and Salvation. This is why Rudri is done for Peaceful life. During the Kailash tour, visiting Pashupatinath and its worship is the first thing to do for pilgrims. It is believed that worshipping Lord Pashupatinath, doing Aarati grants all kinds of good merits to devotees. This is why the Kailash Tour is believed to be complete only after a holy visit to Pashupatinath. Kailash Manasarovar is one of the most important pilgrimage sites. Kailash is a pilgrimage even to many Jyothirlinga and Shiva Temples. In this Universe, Humans are superior to Soul, Sages are superior to Humans, Gods are superior to sages and Lord Shiva is superior even to Gods and Kailash is the dwelling place of supreme Lord Shiva. So, every pilgrimage is believed to be incomplete without the Kailash Pilgrimage. It is a popular religious trend to wish for a successful Kailash Tour by doing Rudra (Shiva’s idol) Consecration and fire offering (Hawan) to Lord Pashupatinath, which takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. After Rudra Abhishek, join Panchamrit Pooja in Pashupatinath temple every day 9:30 AM to 11 AM Bhatta pujari. Offering available in the temple but it is a payable Pooja and with Pooja Thali, milk, Rudrachhe mala, flower garland and a lamp. Devotee offers it to the priest. By offering Panchamrit Pooja for lord Pasupatinath fulfills all the desired wishes for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra / tour. The ceremony ends after getting Prasad and Rudraccha mala. This Pooja is available only Hindu devotees. Other religions are not allowed to enter the main gates.
Visit Gujeswari / Guyeshori Shakti Pith temple. Among Astha Matrilas (Eight mother Goddesses) she is mother of all. She is worshiped by Hindu and Buddhist both. According to Pauranik Katha Hindu legend. Lord Shiva’s 1st consort SATI DEVI offered by some insult of her husband Shiva dropped herself into YAGYAAKUND (A religious fire ceremony) Load Shiva’s retrieved her, fire burned corpse senseless him by grief and flew to and fro across Nepal and the Indian subcontinent. SATI DEVI’s body is scattered in 51 Shakti Pith. Guyeshori is a place where her secret part (GOPYA) vagina, some says her anus fell to which we call Guyeshori. She protects deities of Kathmandu valley as well. Back to hotel for lunch and after lunch, visit Jal Narayan (Budhanilkantha)
  • Budhanilkantha: Afternoon around 2:00 PM start sightseeing with a holy guide to Budhanilkantha (Jal Narayan) Vishnu Temple located in Budhanilkantha, Nepal, is a Hindu open air temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Budhanilkantha Temple is situated below the Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu valley & can be identified by a large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu. Budhanilkantha, portrays a sleeping Vishnu, floating like a gigantic astronaut on a bed of snakes in the middle of a big pool of water depicting the cosmic ocean. The name Budhanilkantha has nothing to do with Buddha, but literally means “blue throat disguised by mud”. The peculiar name refers to two legends attached to the statue, one of them saying that a farmer found the long lost statue in the mud when working his field with a plough and the other saying that Vishnu sacrificed himself by drinking the poison of the cosmic ocean, which then turned his throat blue.
