Lhasa Kailash Tour

Full moon night in Manasarovar Lake on 16 September 2016 (Purnima)

Lhasa, the capital of Tibet (an autonomous region of China), is a beautiful city situated at an altitude of 3650 meters from the sea level. It consist houses the ancient Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and the Norbulunka etc which provides the travelers an opportunity to explore the diverse landscape, lifestyle of the local people and the fascinating culture over there.

Lasha is accessible from Kathmandu via China Southwest Airlines in one hour. You will surely be delighted with the exclusive panorama of the Himalayan range including the highest Summit Mount Everest being on the flight. Then you will reach to Gonggar Airport of Lasha where our escorts will manage all the immigration and custom formalities. Our coach will be waiting there for you at the airport to transfer you all in the hotel for a night stay. It takes two hour to drive you 93 km to reach the hotel. It is worthwhile to spend your two following days in sight seeing in the city and the Barkhor Bazaar to adjust you with the temperature and altitude of that area.

Then in the third day you will move to venture Kailash Parvat enjoying the beautiful setting of Tibetan Highlands and the Yarlung Tsangpo river valley. After this you will visit the sacred Mansarovar Lake which is just 15 meters below Kailash Parvat. Circumambulating the Kailash region worshipping and praying there in 3 days you will driven back to Miteri Bridge (Friendship bridge) where our coach will be waiting to drive you back to Kathmandu. In this way our holy trip to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar comes to an end.

The Mysterious Holy Peak-Mount Kailash; Mt. Kailash, is considered as a most sacred peak of Asia by the people following different religion, the Hinduism, the Buddhism, the Jainism and the Bonpo (Tibetan indigenous religion) Religion. Situated at an altitude of 6714 meters from the sea level this Parvat is entitled as ‘Kang Rimpoche’ by the Tibetan people which protects all the Tibetan people, Hindus describe it as the dwelling of Lord Shiva and Parvati and Buddhist worship it as the meditating place of Buddha. Though their understanding is different they have the similar faith on Mount Kailash as the sacred abode of the gods and goddesses and the exact center of the entire universe, is the holiest mountain of all. The mountain is also renowned for its unique four-faced shape like that of a handle of a millstone. The sacred Buddhist symbol 'Swastika' on the southern sheer of the mountain makes it more attractive and mysterious. This mountain is related to Mount Meru of Hindu mythology. Hindu scriptures describes Mt. Meru as lying in the Himalayan range, with its four faces made of four different jewels (gold, crystal, ruby and lapis lazuli), where gods resided and from where four great rivers namely ,the Brahmaputra, the Indus, the Indus and the Ganges originated.

Kailash Parbat is considered as divine by the devotees with a belief that the gods or founders of these religions had once meditated or resided in the holy mountain. Thus the pilgrims flock to the mountain to pay homage to the gods residing on its top.

Sacred Lake, Manasarovar: 15 meters below the holy Mount Kailash is another significant pilgrimage destination, most sacred Lake of Hindus-Mansarovar. Mansarovar, literally meaning 'the consciousness of mind', is situated at an altitude of 4580 meters from the sea level. It is so mighty that it takes at least three days to just go round its peripheries. Mansarovar also holds an important religious space among Buddhist other than the Hindus. One dip into the cold water of this holy Lake is believed, by Hindus, to relinquish the soul of all its sins thus carving a straight path to heaven after death that means directly to the abode of Lord Shiva. Ancient Hindu scriptures indicate this Lake as a must-visit place for those who want to attain ultimate salvation – the highest level of spiritual achievement. Many others also come to take a bath in this holy Lake with a belief that it will keep them energetic, youthful and strong forever. The travel Company Monterosa provides you the best auspices to make your holy trip a lifelong achievement. Please give us the opportunity to serve you. Here is our common itinerary for this year trip. “Haara Haara Mahadev.”
