Every year huge mass of Pilgrims come to visit the sacred Kailash Parvat and Manasarovar Lake, situated in the China’s autonomous region of China from around the globe and neighboring country India via the route of Nepal.
As per religious believers, a person who completes the Kailash circuit once, all his sins are gone away. Circumambulating Mt. Kailash 108 times means that one is directly accomplishing Nirvana (freedom). There are many ancient mythologies associated to this and Hindu Epic Ramayana, one of them says that completing the pilgrimage to this Kailash region knows the world of Shivalok (Lord Shiva’s abode).
Hindus worship Mount Kailash as the homeland of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. A bulky black peak Kailash is the most venerated holy place on one hand and the least visited pilgrimage too in the other hand. The 6714 meters elevated summit Kailash is the supremely sacred site of four religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bonpo (indigenous Tibetan religion) and believed to be the abode and meditating place of founders of these religions. That’s why this region occupies highest degree of faith among billions of people who aspires to visit this place at least once in their lifetime.
Manasarovar Lake: Manasarovar Lake (4580m) lying just 15 meters below sacred Mount Kailash is regarded as the lake of one’s spirit. The name of this lake is derived from Sanskrit language which means lake of consciousness. It has deep spiritual influence and an age long religious significance not only for Buddhist but it imparts equal faith to Buddhist, Jains and Bonpos. Hindus describe it as abode of Lord Shiva, destroyer of illusion and ignorance, Buddhist as the meditating place of Lord Buddha, Jains regards this lake where their first prophet achieved enlightenment, and Tibetan people described it as a savior of mankind. It is believed to be the largest body of fresh water attributed with healing properties. One to three rotations of this lake is believed to purify the soul and body from sins and physical pain. However it is not easy to travel around the periphery of this gigantic Lake as it takes three full days to locals and 5-7 days for the adventure lover for campaign around this Lake. But one can feel the explosive power while rotating this lake with the view of devotees, Monks and Priest worshipping and chanting at its shore.
